Sr. Margaret Hanon, Phjc

Sister Margaret Hanon (Sr. John), PHJC, 92, died at 2:08 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson, Indiana.
She was born on December 28, 1921 in Gary, Indiana to Otto S. and Fannie (Stocking) Hanon. On September 4, 1939 she entered the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ congregation in Donaldson, Indiana and professed first vows on June 25, 1942. Sister Margaret received her Masters of Education Degree and her Master of Arts Degree, and taught elementary students for 42 years and she also taught at Ancilla College for 13 years. She served as an organist at several parishes.
Sister Margaret is survived by her loving sister, Sr. Mary Boby, PHJC, of Donaldson, IN.
She was preceded in death by siblings; Vivian, Vione, Catherine, Edward and George.
Visitation will be from 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. EDT Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Catherine Kasper Chapel, 9601 Union Road, Donaldson. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. EDT in the Chapel. Funeral liturgy will be at 11:15 a.m. EDT Monday, June 2, 2014 in the Catherine Kasper Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Donaldson.
