Sister Rose Marie Kalil, 90, died at 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 in the Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson.
She was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, on March 4, 1916, the daughter of Sam and Lillian (Nicholas) Kalil.
Sr. Rose Marie first professed her vows into the community of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ on June 25, 1936 and recently celebrated her 70th Jubilee. Sister served in the health care field in the following locations: St. Vincent Villa – Ft. Wayne, St. John’s – Belleville, Ill., Angel Guardian Orphanage – Chicago, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital – Chicago, St. Joseph Hospital – Mishawaka, Healthy Family Center – Mishawaka and Catherine Kasper Life Center – Donaldson.
She is survived by two sisters; Ann Seward and Agnes Fry both of Mishawaka and two brothers; Louis Kalil also of Mishawaka and John Kalil of South Bend along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2006, in the Catherine Kasper Life Center Chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2006 in the Catherine Kasper Life Center Chapel. The Reverend Fr. Edward Konerman, S.J., will officiate.
Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Donaldson.
