Sister Stella Quitmeyer, 78, died at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2006, in the Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson, IN.
She was born in Trenton, Illinois, on August 15, 1927, the daughter of Jospeh H. and Ida M. Vollet Quitmeyer.
Sister Stella was dedicated to child care. She had worked at the Angel Guardian Orphanage in Chicago, IL and St. John Orphanage in Belleville, IL.. She later worked as an aide and in Occupational therapy at the Catherine Kasper Home, Donaldson, as a clerical worker, supervisor and the Medical Records Clerk at St. Anne Hospital, Chicago IL, before becoming the Program Director at Meredith Memorial Home in Belleville. She retired to the Catherine Kasper Home in 1993.
She is survived by three sisters: Leola Halzinger of Highland, IL; Dorothy Boeckman of Breese, IL and Edith Shoemaker of Englewood, CA, a brother: Joseph Quitmeyer of Chepechet, RI, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2006, in the Catherine Kasper Life Center Chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, in the Catherine Kasper Life Center Chapel. The Reverend Father Edward Konerman, S.J., will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Donaldson.
