Stella Mae Seal, 80, 1004 Virginia Lane, Knox, Ind., formerly of Bremen, Plymouth and Tazewell, Tenn., died of natural causes in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, on Saturday, October 21, 2000, at 6:45 a.m.
Born in Tazewell , Tenn. on March 5, 1920, Stella was the daughter of Edward and Ellie Bull Hall. She attended Claiborne County schools in Tazewell.
Stella was first married to Thomas Miley, Sr.. She then married George Grant Seal on December 22, 1968 in Marcellus, Michigan. George died on February 20, 1998.
A homemaker, she enjoyed her family and raising her children. She loved to cook. Her specialty was chicken and dumplings. She also enjoyed sewing and making quilts.
Stella was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, Seal’s Chapel, Tazewell, Tenn.
She is survived by four sons, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. Her sons are Stan Miley, Osceola, Ind., Bill Miley, Linton, Ind., Tom and Minerva Miley, Jr., Bremen, Ind., and Dave and Jackie Miley, Lakeville, Ind.
Two sisters and a brother also survive: Lucille Brantley, Plymouth, June Morgan, Knox, and John and Shirley Hall, Valparaiso, Indiana.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and three brothers: Robert, Estelle and Lewis Hall, and two sisters, Jean Warner and Pauline Hall.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 23, 2000, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Indiana.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Rick Scarberry, pastor of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, South Bend, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2000, in the funeral home.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Stella’s memory may be made to the Hospice of St. Joseph County.
