Susan Allen, 60, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Center for Hospice, Mishawaka.
Born on October 27, 1960 in Plymouth, Indiana she was the daughter of Charles and Alice (Walker) Martin. Susan attended Plymouth High School graduating with the class of 1980. She attended Indiana University South Bend for business.
After courting for three years, she married her best friend Earnest Allen on May 26, 1989 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Plymouth.
Susan started working for Kentucky Fried Chicken in high school and stayed with them for 15 years earning the title of manager. She worked for the Pilot Newspaper for another 15 years as a carrier delivering newspapers. She was an avid gardener but wasn’t so much into weeding. Susan loved taking care of her horse “Nugget,” taking care of her dogs, and bird watching. Christmas Hallmark movies were some of her absolute favorite to watch. Susan loved spending time with her family and she was a great mother to her children who were her pride and joy.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was on the board for Plymouth Soccer Traveling League.
She is survived by her husband Bill of Plymouth; son’s Cord and Jace Allen of Plymouth; brothers: Dick (Sherrie) Martin of Plymouth; Chuck (Cathy) Martin of South Bend; Cliff Martin of St. Lucie, FL; Bill (JoAnn) Martin of Bourbon; sister Mary Ann Martin of St. Lucie, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will take place on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 4-7 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. A Memorial Service will take place immediately following with Fr. Spenser St. Louis.
