Sylvia J. Hepler, 96, a former resident of Plymouth , died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Brighton Gardens Care Facility, Omaha , Nebraska. She has resided in Omaha since 1990, going there from Plymouth . Born October 23, 1905 in Union Township , she was raised in the Plymouth area the daughter of Irvin W. and Flora Bell Warner Neidlinger. She attended Plymouth schools.
On February 14, 1935 in Plymouth , Clifford J. Hepler and Sylvia were married. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1962 .
During WWII, Sylvia work at the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant and for many years with the Dietary/Food Service Department of Parkview Hospital, Plymouth . Following her retirement, she made her home with her brother Fred for the next seventeen years.
She was raised a member of the Plymouth Church of the Brethren and had also attended the Inwood Methodist Church .
One daughter Betty J. (Mrs. Arden E.) Herrick of Omaha, Nebraska survives along with four grandchildren; Ardith (Mrs. Richard) Cowman, Jeane (Mrs. Vaughn) Watts , Paul (Sally) Herrick and Scott Herrick all of Omaha . Nine great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren also survive.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her spouse, a son Donald, four sisters; Dora (Morlock) Stickle, Goldie Aker, Vernie Neidlinger and an infant sister. Also, two brothers, Fred and Floyd Neidlinger.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2002 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth , IN. Services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2002 , the Rev. David Kerkove, pastor of the Plymouth Church of the Brethren will officiate.
Burial will take place in the New Oakhill Cemetery , Plymouth .
