Tanner Robert Virgil

July 4, 1995 — November 29, 2024

Rochester

Tanner Robert Virgil, 29, a beloved son, husband, and father, passed away at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne on November 29, 2024, after a brave battle against leukemia, which he was diagnosed with in May. He was born on July 4, 1995 in Plymouth to Bruce and Lori (Gochenour) Virgil.

Tanner was a proud graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 2015. Following his education, he devoted himself to his career as a mechanic at Denmar Automotive in Plymouth. Before this, he made an impression on his customers during his time at Overmyer Water, where his kindness and helpfulness shone through. Tanner was not only skilled in his work but was also known for his generous spirit—he would give you the shirt off his back, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.

Family meant everything to Tanner, and he cherished precious moments spent camping with them. He could be found sitting around the campfire filled with laughter as stories were shared. His family will forever cherish the memories made during these camping trips.

Tanner was always on the go, enthusiastic about participating in events like the P-Town Cruise-In. In his youth, Tanner enjoyed NASCAR, and he proudly toured the facilities in South Carolina with the excitement of a true fan. He had fond memories of his days in Boy Scouts, which helped shape his character as he grew into the wonderful man he became.

As a devoted family man, Tanner took immense pride in being a dad to his beloved daughter, Kynlee, and a fantastic husband to his wife, Chanelle, whom he married on June 25, 2024. He imparted his love for iconic characters like Scooby Doo and Mickey Mouse onto Kynlee, nurturing her imagination and ensuring that delightful childhood memories would thrive. Tanner's personality was a beautiful mix of kindness, fun, and sarcasm. He filled the lives of others with laughter, often joking around and creating a warm atmosphere wherever he went. His outgoing nature made him a friend to many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Tanner will be deeply missed by his wife, Chanelle; daughter, Kynlee; parents, Bruce and Lori; siblings, Amber Miller, Merisa (Jaboebi) Moore and Rachel Maggard; nieces and nephews, Jade, Beaux, Chevy, Gracelynn, Lavanna, and Roman; Mother and Father-in-Law; Tara and Tony Taylor; in-laws, Bryton and Kamiko Taylor; along with his fur-babies, Saydi and Velma.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Linda and Carl Lowry; Brent Gochenour, and Robert Virgil.
