Thomas Traversa, 73, passed away in his home with his family by his bedside at 9:14 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018.
Tom was a hardworking man who committed his life to his family. There wasn’t a problem he couldn’t solve. He loved to fish and later in life, found pleasure on the pontoon boat. He loved animals and leaves behind two beloved shih-tzu dogs- Sissy and Sammy.
Tom recently gave his life to Christ on August 15, 2018 and instantly had a passion to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. He professed his faith through the act of baptism on October 7, 2018.
He was a dedicated father of: Thomas (Deb) Traversa, Loretta (John) Schmidt and Ed (Mindy) Traversa. Tom was the “papa†to Derek Traversa, J.T. Schmidt, the late Kayla Traversa, Emily (Zach) Sowder, Ryan Traversa, Alyssa (Patrick) Ryan, Sarah (Justin) Newland, Brittany Schmidt and Abby Schmidt. He was the beloved “GG†to Lindsay and baby Patrick Ryan.
He was the dear brother of Lucy (George) Harris, Pat (Roger) Garbers, the late Mary (John) Willett, the late Gerry (Jan) Traversa, Bill (Debbie) Traversa, Betty (Don) Kelly, .Jim Traversa and the late Mike (Clara) Traversa. Tom’s parents, Thomas Nicholas and Marie Hanrahan Traversa preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Tyner United Methodist Church, 4501 French Street, Tyner. Visitation will resume one hour prior in the church.
Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery, Plymouth at 3 p.m. on Friday.
