Valerie E. Smith, 99, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday morning October 2, 2017.
Lifetime Marshall county resident, Valerie was born in Inwood, Indiana on May 11, 1918 to Clarence L. and Minnie B. (Gerard) Conner. She attended Washington High School.
She married Samuel H. Eby in 1934 in Plymouth. He passed away on January 2, 1978. Valerie married Collin N. Smith on June 26, 1944 in Plymouth. He would pass away on August 10, 2006.
Valerie was a member of the United Methodist Church of Inwood. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. She also has a collection of chicken, roosters and Christmas ornaments.
Surviving are her daughters: Gloria N. Rader of Eaton, OH and Kay E. Stephens of Akron, OH and sons: Dennis (Connie) D. Smith and Corey Bolinger, both of Plymouth; as well as, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 7, 2017 at 11 am in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held prior from 10-11 am.
Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
