Viola “Vi” Belle Conway, 85, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at 10:30 p.m. in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, following an illness.
Vi was a former resident of Jackson Heights, moving there in 1989 having previously lived in Terre Haute and Muncie, Ind.
She was born in Sullivan County Ind., on December 10, 1914, the daughter of Marshall J. and Verna Peters Braner. She graduated from Farmersburg High School.
On March 4, 1943, in Terre Haute, she married George A. Conway. George died on April 22, 1994.
A homemaker, Vi loved to paint with oil paints. She was clever with her hands and sewed, knitted and did embroidery work.
Surviving her death are two daughters and a son. Her daughters are Daisy “Bunny” and Larry Farotto, Tavares, Florida and Sue and F.J. Collins, Plymouth, Ind. Her son is Jim and his wife Linda Irwin of Jacksonville, Florida.
Eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, three sisters and a brother, survive as well.
Vi was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jackie Lee Irwin and two sisters.
Friends may call at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Sunday, March 5, 2000, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Vi’s funeral will be on Monday, March 6, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Ray Caudill, minister of the Central Church of Christ of which she was a member, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in Vi’s memory will be appreciated.
