Virginia M. Thomas, 65, lifetime Plymouth resident, passed away with her husband by her side on Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Elkhart Hospice House in Elkhart.

Virginia was born on May 10, 1951 in Plymouth, Indiana to Howard F. and Martharose (McLane) Matthews. She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1970.

On June 19, 1971 at Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, Virginia became the wife of Roy P. Thomas.

Virginia cleaned house for seniors with disabilities, 6 days a week for 7 years. She was a member of the Council of Aging in Plymouth from 1997-2004. She also worked at Lowe’s until her retirement in 2004.

She was a member of the Rolling Thunder, the Disabled American Veteran’s Auxiliary and helped serve holiday meals for veterans five times a year at Ft. Custard.

Virginia loved to go on walks and making memories with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Roy of Plymouth and their children: Steven J. (Stacy) Thomas of Warsaw, Robert P. Thomas of Plymouth and Ann M. Leed of Plymouth. Her grandchildren are: Matthew Thomas, Chad Thomas, Amber Thomas, Jennifer Leed, Tanner Leed, Jordan Grove, Madison Grove and McKenna Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Jennifer L. Thomas.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m.

Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
