W. Ed Rusher

Willard E. “Ed” Rusher, 72, passed away on Monday July 3, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.

Ed was born in Linton, Indiana on September 17, 1944, to Lonnie Ralph and Ima Jean (Goad) Rusher. He graduated from Sandsborn High School with the class of 1962.

On July 16, 1975 in Plymouth, Ed married Shirley May Ronk.

He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War as a Staff Sargent and was Honorably Discharged in 1970.

Ed got into the trucking business shortly after. He worked as a dispatcher for Boyd Trucking, Powell Trucking and Harry B. Franklin in Plymouth until his retirement in 2002.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 27 and Veterans of Foreign War- Marshall County Post 1162.

Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Shirley of Plymouth, and their children: Susan J. (Jeffery) Robinson of Plymouth, Tammie L. (Jerry) Conn of Tippecanoe, Willard E. Rusher Jr., and Tina Marleen Rusher. His brother, Lonnie (Jane) Rusher also survive.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 7th, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by members of the American Legion Post 27, Veterans of Foreign War- Marshall County Post 1162 and Disabled American Veteran Chapter 42.
