Walter “Wally” Edward Myers, 80, a Plymouth resident since 2000, passed away of natural causes in his home on Monday evening, January 27, 2014.
The son of Jay and Isa Myers, Walter was born on December 16, 1933 in South Bend. He graduated from John Adams High School.
Wally worked for Marshall Fields in Chicago for 37 years, delivering stock to the store departments. He retired in 2000 and moved to Plymouth.
He was an avid reader and book collector. Being a religious man, he knew the Bible inside and out. Wally attended Immanuel Lutheran Church. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping. Never owning a car, Wally walked everywhere. He enjoyed his frequent trips to his nephew’s barber shop and visiting his friends at McDonalds in Plymouth.
Wally is survived by his sister, Ila Biggs of Ft. Wayne, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Earl, Harry, Jay and Neola.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Wenzel officiating.
Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn, Indiana.
