Wanda J. Braner, 91, died of natural causes at 1:45 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, in Pilgrim Manor, 222 Parkview St., Plymouth, Ind. Wanda was born in Huntington County, Ind., on Feb. 19, 1911. She was the daughter of William E. and Ivia Nora Brown Bardsley. She graduated from Huntington County High School and the Ft. Wayne Business College. On April 30, 1932, Wanda and Lawrence H. Braner were married in Rochester, Ind. Lawrence died on Oct. 24, 1998. Wanda was the Postmaster of the Tyner Post office for 27 years. She retired at the age of 67. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, writing poems and doing crewel embroidery. She was a member of the Tyner Rebecca Lodge and the National League of Postmasters. Wanda is survived by her four children, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Her children are Joyce (Roy) Burch, Glendale, Ariz., Larry (Cathy) Braner, Warsaw, Indiana, Judy Braner and Jerry Braner, all of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and one sister. Visitation with her family and a celebration of her life will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, with a Tyner Rebecca Lodge service at 7:00 P.M. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will take place on Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Tyner United Methodist Church where Wanda was a long-time member. The Rev. David Inskeep, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Tyner Cemetery, Tyner, Ind. Memorial gifts in Wanda’s memory may be made to the Tyner Methodist Church or the Marshall-Starke Development Center.
