William A. Horwath, 82, of Culver and formerly of Highland, Indiana, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, November 23, 2015, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Plymouth Campus.
William was born in Hammond, Indiana on February 21, 1933, the son of William and Mary Horwath. He graduated from George Rogers Clark High School with the Class of 1950.
He gave service to his country in the U.S. Army while stationed in Korea.
William was a member of the Glaziers Union Local 27 and retired in 1998.
He and his wife Pauline are members of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Culver.
Surviving family members: His faithful wife of 54 years, Pauline (Vania), son David W. (Kasia) Horwath of Munster, IN, and daughters, Carolyn (Robert) Bandura of Crown Point, IN and Michelle (David) Beto of Algonquin, IL.; grandchildren: Brittany, Jamie, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Alex and Anna; great granddaughter, Kya, and numerous nieces and nephews; Raymond Zickmund, brother-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Leane Zickmund.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 25th from 9:30 – 11 a.m. (EST) in St. Mary of the Lake Church, 124 College Avenue in Culver. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. (EST) with Fr. Jeffery Largent, Pastor, officiating.
A committal service will take place at 12:30 p.m. (CST) Wednesday in the Chapel Lawn Cemetery Chapel, 8178 Cline Avenue, Schererville, Indiana.
