William was born in Bremen, IN to Lloyd Sr. and Bernice (Kaylor) Espich. William married Gloria Wooley at the Brethren Church in Plymouth, Indiana on September 30, 1962. The couple enjoyed a beautiful marriage lasting just shy of 57 years.
He started driving a truck at the age of 18, hauling steel for the automotive industry. He owned Espich trucking and a few other businesses throughout his life. He loved his time on the open road, often having his faithful canine companion Herschel by his side.

His children sent Gloria and him to Hawaii for their 25th anniversary, in which they enjoyed so much they quickly purchased a place there. One of his favorite things to do was to take long walks on the beaches of Hawaii with his family.
