Licensed Funeral Director

Overview: 

Responsible for meeting with families and assisting them in making funeral arrangements, responsible for the management of visitations and funeral services. Respond to calls for service or death, including transportation of the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home and embalm and prepare the deceased as needed.


Essential Functions of Funeral Director:


·        Provide advice and support regarding funeral service to At-Need families. Ensure that families understand their options and get the guidance and care           that is pertinent to their situation.

·        Answer questions about funeral service options (costs, ideas, etc.) to call-in or walk-in price shoppers in compliance with FTC Funeral Rule.

·        Perform the removals of deceased from the place of death and embalm without needing assistance.

·        Arrange funeral services with deceased’s family members including funeral time, selection of casket, vault, and service folder. Assist family with                     flower selection, obituary, cemetery charges, clergy charges, organist, death certificate and other details.

·        Complete financial arrangements with deceased’s family members including purchase contract, payment arrangements and accounts receivable                   follow-up. Comply with contract law and Federal Trade Commission Rules. 

·        Prepare the body for the visitation, work in the prep room to prepare bodies for viewing (embalming, cosmetics, dressing, casketing and/or                               preparation for cremation).

·        Responsible to manage the funeral and burial.

·        Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.

·        Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
